Egis Lagan Services Ltd is a newly formed company specifically established to undertake motorway maintenance and renewals work on the Irish motorway network on behalf of the National Roads Authority. Our responsibility extends some 330km of mainline carriageway across designated sections of the M7, M8, M9 motorways and the N25/N40 road network in the Cork City environs.
Egis Lagan Services will be responsible for all operation and maintenance activities on the relevant sections of the primary motorway network. Key activities include winter maintenance, emergency and incident response, inspections and patrolling, defect remedial works, traffic management and stakeholder liaison.
The hands-on implementation of the day-to-day Project Road maintenance requirements.
To provide call-out cover to out-of-office hours emergency responses.
To carry out routine maintenance activities including:
- Traffic Management
- Winter Maintenance
- Emergency Response
- Bridge Maintenance
- Accident Damage Repair (e.g. safety & boundary fence repair)
- Road Furniture cleaning
- Landscaping / Grass cutting
- Litter collection
- General maintenance duties
- Keep accurate records of tasks completed
- To undertake all allocated maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Person specification - essential for the role
- 2nd level qualification
- Valid Safe Pass holder
- An understanding of and commitment to health and safety practices and principles
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Good standard of written and spoken English
- Adaptable and flexible with a willingness to learn new job specific skills
Person specification - desirable but not essential for the role
- Up-to-date training/qualifications in:
- Traffic Management
- Class EC drivers licence.
- CSCS Excavator Operator Ticket
- CSCS Telescopic Handler Operator Ticket
- Experience in a similar role
- Experience of motorway/road construction/maintenance
- Knowledge of the standard methods, equipment, materials, tools, and
- practices used in performing the road maintenance activities
- Own transport
- Class C drivers licence
- Driver CPC
