Egis has been working in Romania for more than 25 years, providing engineering and consultancy services in road and rail transport sectors as well as water and environment, energy and urban development markets.
Our diverse team is working on more than 20 major infrastructure projects today with many more planned or expected. Designing and managing complex road transportation projects, such as expressways, motorways and other high-speed roads is one of the main focus of our mission in Romania, drawing upon the 50+ years of experience that Egis group has in the roads domain.

Job description

The role is full-time and based in our offices in Bucharest, Romania.
Depending on your level of experience, the job will require you to be able to:
§  Manage design project(s) ensuring the necessary resources and activity to deliver on time and to client satisfaction including performance, contract and risk management (supported by others as necessary, e.g. legal or contractual experts)

§  Overall coordination of the road design project(s) with focus on technical issues and resources (staff and financial resources)

§  Coordination of all stages of design activity according to legislation in force (permitting regulation, design and quality regulations, etc)

§  Maintain relationship and regular contact with Clients, Partners, Subcontractors - accurately identifying project needs and effectively finding and negotiating solutions to meet them

§  Manage project budgets, ensuring they are accurately forecast, monitored and regularly reviewed. Also responsible for planning of project workload, invoices/payments etc under the guidance of the Design Department Manager

§  Identify solutions and resources to solve problems and meet the needs of the projects(s), coordinating with others (e.g. Design Department Manager, or other departments in the group) to ensure project needs are met.

§  Adhere to project management processes and seek to improve the efficiency of the processes where possible

§  Maintain awareness of current issues and trends in the market, especially those with direct impact on projects

§  Provide technical input on the identification, preparation and/or negotiation of commercial offers/bids under the guidance of the Design Department Manager

§  Effectively manage the teams and demonstrate a mature and balanced approach to managing conflict in the team  

Profile

At least 8-10 years of proven Road Design experience in Romania

§  Civil Engineering degree, majoring in railways, roads and bridges, consolidation, tunnelling or alike

§  Prior experience in managing complex road infrastructure contracts as Project Manager  

§  Flexibility and adaptability, including the ability to work under stress and extended hours and manage priorities and risks to respond to tight deadlines

§  Good skills in organising, scheduling, planning, able to delegate tasks and responsibilities where appropriate

§  Fluent in Romanian. Good spoken and written English.

§  Strong computer skills (proficiency in recognised design software and Microsoft applications).
