Project Engineer - Railway Systems

Business Line specific context

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Junior Project Engineer to join our dynamic team specializing in railway systems. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of the Project, the Tainan Monorail Blue Line. Egis will provide design services related to Railway Systems and your will assist the Project Manager in delivering the Project successfully both on coordination aspects and technical aspects. This role will be based in Tainan City.

Job description

  • Project Support: Provide assistance to the Project Manager and Senior Engineers in the planning, scheduling,  and execution of railway system projects.
  • Technical Analysis: Conduct technical analysis and evaluations to assess the performance and reliability of railway systems, including signaling, Rolling Stock, electrification, communication systems, platform screen doors, operation control system and track switches.
  • Documentation: Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, reports, and proposals.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, technicians, and public authorities, to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols in all project activities.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and cost overruns.
  • Client Liaison: Maintain regular communication with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to address project requirements and resolve issues effectively.
  • Training and Development: Continuously update technical knowledge and skills through training programs and professional development opportunities.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering..
  • Good knowledge of railway systems, technologies and related civil interfaces
  • Good knowledge of railway systems, technologies, and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with safety and regulatory requirements in the railway industry.
  • Good project management and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Ability to work in an international context – Good level of English and Chinese-Mandarin (speaking & writing)
  • Ability to work under pressure with good working attitude
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
