Job description

Role purpose:

To provide leadership to the project team/s for assigned project/s to ensure delivery of project services and outcomes that meet or exceed client and/or project requirements on time and budget.  In addition, the Managing Consultant is expected to effectively manage relationships with existing clients and build client networks that facilitate productive business development activities to meet agreed targets. This role may be based from our Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne offices.

Core tasks:

Reporting to the Principal, Infrastructure Advisory and Project Development in Brisbane this role will support the development and delivery of consulting services to complex social and economic infrastructure.

The main responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify and leading multiple and concurrent Infrastructure Advisory (consulting) projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and solutions to our clients
  • Directing and allocating resources to projects to ensure they meet budgetary, quality, safety and timeframe targets, while exceeding client expectations
  • Identifying and tracking major project development opportunities including needs analysis, problem/opportunity definition, strategic assessment, options analysis, business cases and procurement processes
  • Plan and manage quantitative and qualitative analysis, studies and reports across social and economic infrastructure, with skills including (but not necessarily limited to):
    •    Demand analysis
    •    Economic analysis and impacts
    •    Financial and commercial analysis
    •    Risk analysis
    •    Delivery planning, procurement strategies
    •    Benefits management and realisation frameworks
  • Co-ordinating sub-consultants and external stakeholders to ensure high quality proposals and project deliverables
  • Leading tasks to ensure they are appropriately assessed, responded to and resolved within required timeframes
  • Leading development of high quality proposals as required
  • Promoting Egis’ Infrastructure Advisory services through industry awareness and networking and maintaining key strategic relationships with key industry partners
  • Participating / working within the other areas of the business locally, interstate and globally to collaborate and share knowledge base
  • Maintaining and detailed understanding of the background of the client’s business and industry to facilitate building effective and enduring relationships and consolidating both company and personal credibility in the industry
  • Engaging in Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time.


Key role experiences, competencies and qualifications:

  • Tertiary Qualification(s) in relevant field and at least ten years industry experience
  • Highly developed client management skills
  • Well developed people leadership skills
  • Ability to influence others to achieve outcomes
  • Strong research and analytic skills
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Computer literate with advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Consulting experience preferred
