Job description
We are looking for a talented, creative, dynamic, experienced, and knowledgeable Senior Landscape Architect to join our studio. The role will be responsible for interacting with a multi-disciplinary project team to deliver a number of landscape projects under the guidance of senior staff.
The SLA will be responsible for design of various projects from inception to completion and demonstrate excellence in creativity, technical knowledge coupled with strong communication and management skills.
1. Has the authority to design projects and/or review landscape architectural plans, specifications and contract documents to ensure compliance with applicable government codes, laws and regulations.
2. Authorized to provide technical expertise in development or review of policies and procedures in relation to landscape architectural design and construction/safety codes.
The main duties of the Senior Landscape Architect include, but are not limited to;
1. Plan, design and manage multiple small to medium to large scale landscape design projects successfully from concept to construction, coordinating all stages and all aspects of a project.
2. Organise day-to-day design, production, documentation works and coordinate the contract administration of the projects.
3. Ensure deliverables are completed in accordance with technical and contractual terms of the project contract.
4. Interact and coordinate with clients, stakeholders and consultants; prepare reports and presentations and attend meetings as necessary.
5. Ensure QA/QC procedures are followed and required approvals are obtained during design development and drawing and documentation production.
6. Ensure projects are comply with the relevant authority codes, standards, policies and international best practices.
7. Assist as required with post-tender contract administration stage, coordinating with contractors and clients’ representatives.
8. Ensure projects are technically sound and ensure landscape design is well coordinated with architecture, engineering and design disciplines, and specialist consultants, the client, operator and stakeholders.
9. Carry out evaluation, selection, application, adaptation and modification of standard Landscape Architectural techniques, procedures and criteria to achieve a high level of design output.
Profile
QUALIFICATIONS;
1. Bachelor’s and/or Post Graduate Degree in Landscape Architecture, ideally, or Architecture.
2. CLA, CMLI or equivalent licensure (preferred).
3. ASLA, RIBA or equivalent membership (preferred).
4. Minimum 10 years’ experience in sizeable landscape design projects over a range of project types and sectors - commercial, residential, public realm, hospitality, mixed use, educational, or other.
5. High proficiency in spoken and written English.
6. The ideal candidate should have excellent design and presentation skills to clients, stakeholders, project managers, consultants and the like.
7. Strong command of the English language, written and spoken, and strong reporting skills.
8. Skill in maintaining an effective working relationship and effective communication with sub-consultants, project management, clients and client representatives, stakeholders, and agencies.
9. Excellent design skills, ability to prepare conceptual plans, presentations and reports and then present them to clients and stakeholders.
10. Requires proficiency in the application of landscape architectural design standards, practices, techniques, and concepts.
11. With advanced technical knowledge in Landscape Architectural discipline and broad knowledge of other design disciplines (Urban Planning / Architecture / Engineering).
12. Demonstrate excellent skills in in computer software – AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, InDesign, Adobe Photoshop (is a plus), Sketch-Up, Lumion, 3D Studio Max (is a plus), Microsoft Office (PowerPoint is a plus) typically associated with landscape architectural design is also required.
