Job description

We are seeking an accomplished Tunnel Engineering Lead to spearhead tunnel engineering excellence within large North American Infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned engineer with a proven record of accomplishment in overseeing and implementing technical solutions for tunnel design and construction.

 

This role presents a unique opportunity for a dynamic professional to lead and grow a dedicated technical team, tapping into our international technical resources to drive innovative tunnel infrastructure solutions within industry leading large infrastructure projects.

 

Tunnel Engineering Expertise:

  • Utilize specialized knowledge in tunnel engineering to lead the design, planning, and execution of tunnel components of large infrastructure projects in the US and in Canada.
  • Provide technical oversight and collaboration in pursuits, proposal development, strategic planning and client relationships.
     

Project Management:

  • Oversee the planning and execution of tunnel projects, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and timeline standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
     

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Build and lead a high-performing technical team dedicated to advancing tunnel infrastructure solutions.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
  • Support as Technical Lead in conferences, pursuit prepositioning and proposals.
     

Client Collaboration:

  • Act as a primary technical point of contact, providing insights and recommendations based on expertise.
     

International Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with international technical resources within the company, leveraging expertise and best practices to enhance tunnel engineering initiatives.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Professional registration (e.g. P. Eng., P.E.) in at least one province/ state and willingness to register in other provinces/ states as required.
  • 15+ years of experience in tunnel engineering, with a proven track record in overseeing and implementing technical solutions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and expertise of various tunneling methods and techniques, geotechnical aspects, and challenging ground conditions.
  • Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to lead and deliver successful tunnel projects on time and within budget.
  • Leadership experience in building and managing technical teams.
  • Familiarity with North American tunneling standards and best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
