Galson Sciences Limited (GSL) is a dynamic consultancy and research company, specializing in radioactive waste management, surface, near surface and geological disposal and decommissioning worldwide.  GSL joined the Egis group in April 2021

 

We are now looking for an established Senior/ Principal Consultant, keen to undertake a multi-faceted role.

 

You will work on a wide range of industry, regulatory and policy projects in the UK and overseas, being given a unique opportunity to develop all-round experience in the nuclear decommissioning, radioactive waste management and disposal industry.

 

You will be welcomed as a key member of the senior management team, where you will play an active role in the growth and development of our people and our company.

 

Your skills and experience

Ideally, you will hold a MSc or PhD in quantitative earth sciences,  applied mathematics, physics, chemistry or engineering.

 

You will have an established career, having worked within the industry for several years, in particular radioactive waste management;, planning/ options assessment, disposal; nuclear safety; modelling, - particularly with respect to geological characterisation; groundwater flow; gas transfer and/or contaminant transport in geological media; criticality safety assessment; radiological risk assessment; and/or environmental safety case development.

 

Experience working on nuclear sites is greatly advantageous, however is not essential.

 

You will have the ability to demonstrate: 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • An aptitude for applied problem solving
  • Self-motivation, with the ability to use your initiative in order to get the job done
  • Excellent team working skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships
  • The ability to produce high quality work to tight timescales
  • Experience of business development, project management and client engagement
     

 

Profile

Successful candidates will be asked to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard Pre-Employment check and will be required to undergo various checks including : Right to Work permanently in the UK, Employment/Education History and Criminal Record.
