Job description

The Quantity Surveyor will contribute to achieving the optimum commercial result through the provision of accurate financial reporting.

·         Providing guidance and support to junior team members.

·         Manage Subcontract Packages, oversee payments to subcontractors, along with normal QS duties.

·         Prepare the cost / value reconciliation reports accurately.

·         Manage standard construction contract forms, including variations and final account agreements.

·         Supervise and manage the accurate and timely project delivery.

·         Ensure subcontract orders are prepared in accordance with company procedures.

·         Attend meetings with the Client, design teams, subcontractors and specialist subcontractors.

·         Evaluate and measure the works within the scope and undertake periodic valuations of the works in progress.

·         Prepare Certificates for Payment.

·         Review of Quotations.

·         Raise instructions for out-of-scope works.

·         Establish whether instructions are variations to contracts and negotiate the value as required.

·         Review defined costs for cost reporting and cost plan to meet financial targets.

·         Oversee and approve the Application for Payment.

·         Responsible for all procurement and tendering and carry out the cost analysis of tenders.

·         Negotiate and agree payments.

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant degree qualification and will also have proven experience and success in a similar role.

Profile

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

 

·         Degree educated in Quantity Surveying or other relevant qualification.

·         Knowledge of the methods of measurement in Ireland.

·         Background in either Engineering, Oil and Gas or Water / Utilities Sectors.

·         Previous experience in a similar role and working knowledge of Transport Infrastructure Ireland’s Requirements for measuring and pricing.

·         Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to communicate confidently and work well under pressure.

·         Familiar with management systems and procedures for procurement and contract management.

·         Technical awareness and able to work with some support to deliver all post contract service delivery and to solve problems.

·         Understanding of planning methodology, cost forecasting and reporting, cost control, cost risk management, contract documentation preparation and contract administration.

·         Commercial awareness with both pre and post contract knowledge with a can-do attitude and excellent work ethic.
