We are seeking a GIS Specialist to join our Environmental Team in Dubai. You will be supporting the team in the delivery of Environmental Impact Assessments and other Environmental Studies. This will include GIS maps production for the studies, analysis of environmental GIS databases, output data sharing with internal design teams and with clients, creation of Web GIS for multidscipline projects with Egis’ tools and in coordination with the GIS experts at a Group level.

To carry out studies, and in particular to produce environmental studies, Egis needs to provide deliverables based on spatial data.

This involves designing, implementing and providing project teams with deliverables (map plans/atlas, conduct spatial and statistical analyses) as well as interactive tools on a single collaborative platform, to facilitate the production and use of geographical data both in the office and in the field.

As part of the team responsible for producing studies and engineering documents using GIS, you will ensure, for each of the projects, to:

integrate environmental data from different sources and from the project (design data),

▬ follow Egis GIS Standards as well as Local GIS Data Standards,

▬ coordinate with the Environmental Service Line - Digital Transformation Team for the implementation of Egis process

▬ process data (format conversion (DWG-SIG), quality control (topology, attributes, data consistency),

▬ spatial and attribute data analysis (multi-criteria),

▬ the production of maps in accordance with the requests of internal departments (adaptation to the customer's graphic charter possible),

▬ the provision of a single collaborative Web platform for the project teams and the customer.

Depending on the project, you may be required to:

▬ prepare field data collection solutions, depending on the needs of the project,

▬ provide technical support for spatial modeling, mapping, satellite imagery analysis, and rapid processing of images, maps, and contour plots,

▬ conduct geoprocessing and analysis of data layers, using a geographic approach to map and analyze findings,

▬ prepare for and participate in environment-related workshops and data gathering exercises,

▬ perform GIS processing to meet client requirements for ESIAs and EIAs,

▬ utilize GIS tools to analyze geographic data, identify potential survey sites, and assess suitability based on various criteria,

▬ develop and maintain GIS databases containing relevant spatial data layers, including land parcels, environmental features, and infrastructure,

▬ create detailed maps, reports, and visualizations to communicate site suitability and project constraints to stakeholders,

▬  provide technical expertise and support throughout the project lifecycle, from site selection to construction phases.

The candidate must have a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Geographic Information Systems with a successful professional experience of 2 to 5 years in the Middle East.

▬    Fluent in Arabic and English (high level standard),

Applicants with Environmental Science background/experience would be preferred
