· The drainage engineer with knowledge of hydrology and hydraulics, will design efficient drainage systems that collect, convey, and dispose of stormwater runoff. This may involve designing channels, pipes, culverts, and detention ponds.
· Conduct thorough evaluations of project sites to understand land characteristics, drainage needs, and potential challenges. This involves analyzing factors like soil composition, topography, and existing infrastructure.
· Proficiency in CAD software like AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydrologic modeling software like MicroDrainage is essential. These tools aid in designing, analyzing, and optimizing drainage systems.
· Surface and sub-surface drainage to the pavements of roads considering the local precipitation, water levels and estimated impacts of climate change within the design period.
· Determination of locations of turnouts/outfall points with detail design of outfall structures fitting into natural contours.
· Collaborate with other project team members like architects, civil engineers, and landscape architects. They effectively communicate design concepts and ensure the drainage system integrates seamlessly with the overall project.
