Description: Egis Rail S.A. is looking for a Contacts Manager to support Egis operations in Europe/Nordic region. Successful candidate will work closely with the projects directors, quantity surveyors, planners, and engineers in Europe/Nordic region. First period of the assignment would include the attribution to Riga Central Station and bridge over the Daugava river design and build project whereas Egis is employed in FIDIC Engineer’s role. Upon advancement, the successful candidate will be involved in Egis operations in Europe/Nordic region, and will extend its advisory under mentorship of the senior staff. The assignments would include occasional travel, as necessary. For all cases this is a very proactive and hands-on position, which requires long-term planning mindset, strategical arrangements, at the same time offering a significant development opportunities.
Primary expectations: the successful candidate shall be proactive and maintain legal and/or commercial, contracts background. Reasonable knowledge about design and construction is expected, hence the on-Site (construction Site) presence will not be required. FIDIC model contracts knowledge is an advantage.
Education/qualification: minimum - bachelor's degree in law, business/commercial administration, or related fields/equivalent. RICS/similar certification would be an advantage, yet is not mandatory.
Primary duties: review, preparation, and coordination of contractual notices. Also, review, preparation and coordination of change, amendments, and Variations orders.
Comprehensive description of duties:
1. Provide support to Project/Project’s Team to secure Egis interests.
2. Prevent actions which may cause any losses or expenditure risks.
3. Manage, organize, provide with the support of the Quantity surveyor as well as the Progress engineer the Variation orders/claims.
4. Maintain compliance as to the procedures for contract management and administration in line with project policy and requirements.
5. Administer on-going contracts, including compliance with the contract documents to ensure that the requirement of the contracts is implemented and maintained.
6. Carry out contractual and/or legal compliance duties.
7. Review all contract documents to minimize conflicts and ambiguities.
8. Contribute to the development of the project risk register.
9. Conduct contract awareness activities for key project staff.
10. Prepare correspondence and maintain records necessary to ensure the effective administration of all contractual matters.
11. Make amendments to contractual documents as required.
12. Oversee warranties, bonds, insurances, guarantees, etc. are in place and maintained and updated in accordance with the contract and follow the client’s requirements.
13. Assist Project Controls in respect of contractual implications of change orders, quality control.
14. Contribute to preparation of monthly commercial reports as required.
