Job description
The key responsibilities of the Strategic Planning, but not limited are as follows:
Strategic:
• Collect and coordinate the strategic objectives and initiatives arising from Strategy, Commercial and Operations, and support the development of practical solutions/projects to realize these
strategic objectives through process, people, system or Infrastructure
• Ensure the resulting projects and programs are deliverables and a balanced tradeoff between the various strategic demands.
• Prepare and implement processes and mechanisms for aligning projects management with client's strategic goals along the life cycle of project using the appropriate management, and
measurement tools.
• Implement a project strategy stage control gates process and merge them with the full stage gates
control process of Client's projects.
• Interfacing and coordinating with the Client's strategy and corporate affairs Department
• Preparing and recommending strategic planning studies as required to support the
implementation and execution of Marat’s projects.
• Provide Planning and change management Methodology guideline for the approved Client's Five-Year Projects Portfolio
• Develop staged governance to enable defects, lifecycle maintenance, risks, and opportunities to become projects as part of the future program portfolio allowing objective comparison and data driven decisions making.
• Strategically assess proposed lifecycle maintenance interventions to align with the wider portfolio and future requirements
• Prepare various high-level project planning and benchmark studies.
• Support for airport and passenger flow modelling and project specific strategic planning studies, either in-house or via external Second Parties
• Supporting project development up to feasibility study with technical input.
• Preparing the strategic planning and Master Planning and knowledge transfer program which includes comprehensive on-the-job learning to Client's staff and graduate programs.
Tactical:
•Take updates from projects control department assess and reflect into strategic monitoring for projects and programs plan.
• Support for preparation and review of Five-Years Projects Portfolio Plan based on a strategic vision and plan of Matarat.
• Interfacing and coordinating for the preparation or update of Matarat Integrated Infrastructure Masterplan, and assist PMO’s department for the preparation of the required RFPs
• Improving the strategic / forward planning accuracy to allow Matarat to improve efficiency and effectiveness in terms of invested capital, time, and quality.
Profile
Requirements:
Must hold a B. Sc. Or Masters’ Degree In Engineering or equivalent from a recognized university or college (M. Sc. Is preferred).
Chartered status is ideal.
Minimum 10 years of experience in airport planning.
Has previous worked on airport masterplans. GCC experience
is preferred.
Must have experience at senior management level as well as having extensive experience in client facing roles.
