Job description

  • Define the Tree Management strategy for the Green Riyadh Program;
  • Define the design objectives and principles of the nursey including greenhouse, seed & propagation center, living lab, training center, visitor center and open spaces).
  • Manage nurseries that grow horticultural plants Manage agricultural or urban forestry operations.
  • Identify trees, shrubs and green cover required for Green Riyadh Program.
  • Identify problems such as diseases, weeds, and insect pests.
  • Evaluate plant and soil conditions.
  • Monitor facilities or operational systems.
  •  Supervise work schedules and duties to nursery or greenhouse staff, and supervise their work.
  • Define staff schedules or work assignments.
  • Determine plant growing conditions, such as greenhouses, hydroponics, or natural settings, and set planting and care schedules.
  •  Define required pesticides and fertilizers to plants.
  • Manage the performance of agricultural, or horticultural tasks if required in Green Riyadh program.
  • Define types of employee needs.
  • Determine types and quantities of trees, shrubs and green cover to be grown, based on budgets, projected Green Riyadh needs & volumes, or Green Riyadh directives.
  • Analyze data to inform operational decisions or activities.
  • Estimate cost or material requirements.
  • Supervise select and purchase seeds, plant nutrients, disease control chemicals, and garden and lawn care equipment.
  •  Overview and monitor the purchase materials, equipment, or other resources.
  • Supervise the safety regulations and policies.
  • Draft communication & organizational policies and procedures.
  • Define and supervise irrigation systems, and program environmental and irrigation control systems.

Profile

  •  Strong experience in construction and management of Nurseries.
  •  Strong commercial skills, win work and oversee delivery
  • Effective leader (has an instinctive eye for talent), proven ability to motivate others and get results both through direct reports and external suppliers (Internal as well as external third party sub consultants);
  • Strategic thinker – ability to spot opportunities and galvanize the resource and the expertise in order to capitalize on them;
  • Experience of interpreting and understanding local rules, regulations and Nursery guides;
  • Excellent client meeting, presentation and report writing skills;
  • Skills in Project Management;
  • Entrepreneurial outlook – keen interest to play a pivotal role in growing the business;
