The MENS’ BU (Project structuring, Operation and New Services) is one of the world leaders in the financial project structuring of PPP projects, as well as in the operation of infrastructures and services. In the road sector, Egis operates and maintains 44 roads and highways, including civil structures such as bridges, viaducts and tunnels. Through 28 operating companies, Egis employs more than 9,300 people in more than 20 countries, i.e. nearly 4,400 km.
In the airport sector, our BU operates, maintains and develops a network of 17 airports around the world, handling more than 30 million passengers and 330,000 tons of freight per year.
The MENS’ BU also offers a wide range of services for its customers such as electronic toll collection, interoperability and on-street parking management.

Job description

Note this role is available part time, job share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full time.

·         Identify Traffic Management and diversion requirements for all investment schemes within the 1-5 year investment plan which is updated annually. Ensure that through the development of this programme, traffic management requirements are considered and that early clash avoidance is undertaken to maximise the deliverability of the programme.

·         Provide tactical advice, guidance and support to CPS Service Delivery and project delivery teams in the appropriate use of traffic management and diversions so that CPS complies with TM regulations and keeps operatives and customers safe.

·         Co-ordinate the allocation of internal CPS traffic management teams and external TM teams to ensure that sufficient resource is available, and they have the necessary level of competency to undertake this work.

·         Ensure that traffic management booking procedures and requirements are clearly documented and communicated to all works promoters.

·         Support the Road Space team by following up with TM resources where cone times have not been recorded in NEMS for road or lane closures.

·         Input into the investigation of any process failures in traffic management provision. Lead the follow up to these investigations, ensuring procedures are updated, additional training is provided, or other changes are made as necessary to prevent recurrence.

·         Develop and implement performance reporting for traffic management planning using concise and high-quality management information reports with applicants and CPS senior leadership to assess and understand performance and to focus on areas requiring improvement.

·         Working with the Traffic Management Manager and Technical Office, liaise with other SME’s within Highways England and other DBFO areas (as well as those in equivalent roles in other industries) to share good practice and identify learnings for CPS.

·         Develop a continuous improvement culture to drive further improvement in performance and efficiency.

·         The post holder will provide cover for periods of absence for the Traffic Management Manager and Technical Officer.



The following qualities / experience are essential:

·         IHE Temporary Management Engineer Certificate or working towards


o    Demonstrate knowledge of temporary traffic management operations

o    Extensive knowledge of Traffic Signs Manual, Safety at Street Works, DMRB and TSRGD 2016 requirements as well as working knowledge of all current guidance and legislation

o    Lantra 12A/B Foreman, IPV Driver, TSCO & 12D M7, SMSTS, SSSTS, IOSH & CSCS

·         Good knowledge of contract requirements and the ability to react to them.

·         Proficient in the use of a PC, Microsoft Office suite of software and ability to work with other business management systems.

·         Essential to have the interpersonal skills to be able to interface successfully with a wide range of people both within and outside the company.

·         An ability to work within a high performing, fast-moving collaborative team.

·         Highly motivated.

·         All round understanding of highways maintenance activities.

-         Full UK driving licence.
