Position description
We are looking for a railway track engineer to join our local team in Toronto to work for urban public transport and heavy rail projects. Under the responsibility of the project director, you will work in collaboration with a team of engineers, experts and project managers, internal and external to the company. You will have the opportunity to participate in several projects at different stages of development. You will be supported by your management to develop your skills and reach your full potential.
As part of the engineering team, depending on Egis positioning on the projects, you will:
· Develop and revise the geometric layout plans of the railways
· Develop and revise the design of the track structure, including its armament, components and drainage aspects
· Discuss and validate complex designs with experienced engineers
· Manage and collaborate with technicians, CAD designers and other engineers
· Prepare and review plans and other deliverables
· Ensure that all requirements including customer requirements, technical specifications, job descriptions and industry standards are met
· Prepare quantity estimates and bills of quantities
· Develop technical reports and specifications
· Perform interdisciplinary coordination with other disciplines such as signaling, traction energy, structures, etc.
· Support vendor, procurement, construction, testing and maintenance teams
· Participate when required in the supervision of works, factory acceptance tests and on-site acceptance tests
· Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to anticipate problems and ensure the smooth running of projects
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
To be considered for this position as Track Engineer we have the following requirements:
· Bachelor's or master's degree in civil or mechanical engineering
· At least 4 years of railway experience
· Knowledge of AREMA and TCRP standards is an important asset
· Knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D or Bentley Power Rail Track software is a strong asset
· Main line / heavy rail experience an advantage, although metro and LRT experience can be considered.
· Fluency in English and excellent communication skills
