Job description

You will join a Project Delivery team that is managing the planning and construction of the Sydney Metro rail network from Chatswood in Sydney’s North, under Sydney Harbour, into the CBD and all the way through to Bankstown in Sydney’s South.

It’s a program of epic proportions which will bring together technical specialists, world-class technology and innovative ways of working to provide Sydney with better, faster and more reliable journeys.


  • The role leads and directs all testing and commissioning activities on a significant package of rail infrastructure works within a Sydney Metro project. 
  • Provide senior management, professional and technical leadership in the delivery of testing and commissioning activities in the rail corridor, rail station and precinct (including utilities).
  • Ensure that testing and commission works are delivered to the required test procedures, standards and in accordance with safe work methods and environmental practices.
  • Manage and oversees work with contractors, service providers and internal testing staff to ensure test and commission activities are delivered in a collaborative and cooperative manner.
  • Support subsequent systems integration acceptance testing activities and to ensure the timely and effective delivery of the project.


  • Typically Degree qualified in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering discipline.
  • Experience of large-scale testing and commissioning campaigns on Greenfield and Brownfield rail infrastructure works in an urban environment.
  • Experience in commissioning or integrating one or more of the following areas required, rail signalling, electrical, ventilation systems, station systems, radio. 
  • Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering or Construction or equivalent professional experience.
