Job Description

The Junior Structural/Inspection Engineer will be trained in all aspects of bridge inspection and will have the opportunity to work on various elevated Expressway and MRT projects. Inspection will also include signature long-span balanced cantilever and cable-stayed bridge types. Inspection work generally covers the following examples:

  • Checking cracks in precast concrete box girders
  • Post-tensioning tendon inspection
  • Expansion joint and bearing inspection
  • Inspection of steelwork members, welded and bolted connections, paint coatings, etc.

The engineer shall:

  • Be responsible for doing bridge inspection work and preparing reports.
  • Be keen on developing use of new inspection technology such as WEB/GIS.
  • Report directly to the Senior Bridge Inspection Engineer.
  • May perform some structural analysis and design related tasks when required (under guidance of senior engineer)


  • Education: Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering
  • 5 to 10 years' experience in construction activities related to bridges and viaduct structures.
  • Some structural design experience will be an advantage, but not essential.
  • Having previously worked at site will be advantageous.
