Position description


As Senior Systems Integration Engineer you will be part of our major heavy project Ontario Corridor technical advisory services, providing high-level advice and integration activities for our client and project.

The OnCorr project is the largest capital infrastructure project in the Province’s historic GO Rail Expansion program, which will bring two-way, all-day service every 15 minutes or better along core segments of the GO rail network. OnCorr project includes all works that facilitate train service, such as track, civil infrastructure, signalling, electrification infrastructure and associated fleet, as well as the operations and maintenance of the GO rail network.

Your activities will include but not be limited to:

· Leading the coordination effort with the design teams (internally or with partners) and with third parties for the external technical interfaces, in all technical and operational areas to ensure delivery of a safe and coherent system. Leading review of existing rail and station systems to inform strategy for integrating new and existing systems.

· Leading systems engineering and integration processes including definition and control of system architecture, requirements management, knowledge database for whole system, EMC management, software management, system performance and simulation. Developing the interfacing strategy including the tools and processes, to ensure that the necessary interface activities can be accomplished in timely manner throughout the project life cycle

· Proactively participating in the resolution of interface or integration conflicts by making technical proposals. Reviewing Systems Safety Strategy, Systems Integration Plan and Schedule, Technology Roadmap, Energy Management System Plan and Energy Policy.

· Supporting the implementation of the quality assurance systems and all project technical plans and procedures for rail systems. Providing technical support for System Assurance Submissions. Reviews systems safety strategy, systems integration plan and schedule. Supports rail system safety certification

· Ensuring that all systems engineering objectives of the project are met to best international standards and practices

· Attending coordination meetings and communicate issues & concerns relating to coordination, approvals and system interfaces

· Assessing risks and following mitigation plans.

Profile

To be considered for this position as Senior Systems Integration Engineer we have the following requirements:

· Graduate Engineer

· Over 10 years of experience in the field of rail.

·  P.Eng. licensed to practice in the Province of Ontario or equivalent designation from a recognized institution of another jurisdiction

· Experience with large capital infrastructure project of a similar size and scope.

· Demonstrated experience in system integration of heavy rail projects.

· Fluent in written/spoken English
