Job description

The Senior Resident Engineer will manage a team of technical supervisors on site to ensure that all works comply fully with regulatory and client's requirements. Works closely with Engineers, regulatory authorities and contractors to provide planning, design and supervision leadership not only to solve site problems, but also to ensure timely completion of the projects. Responsible for implementing and sustaining the site supervision quality & safety assurance system. Responsible for the daily technical matters of their discipline.


Fifteen (15) years relevant experience with bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction science and professional membership.

Profile


  • Ensure all requirements relating to HSE and Security are met.

  • Act as the Construction Supervision Consultant’s representative regarding all matters related to site supervision and management for the Project.

  • Provide leadership to the Site package team.

  • Implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) to ISO 9001:2008

  • Supervise the Contractors’ quality control procedures and implement the quality assurance procedures in accordance with the International Standards

  • Schedule and attend required weekly progress meeting, site construction meetings and site visits with the Contractor and the Client.

  • Approve Contractor’s valuations and follow up to prepare recommendations for payments

  • Approve and analyze the Contractors’ Claims and prepare recommendations report.

  • Respond with appropriate and necessary levels of action and supervision to meet quality expectations of the work in accordance with contract documents.

  • Advise the Client of any site conditions or other circumstances affecting the work

  • Assist in negotiations with Contractors regarding contract changes.

  • Review and follow up to prepare the variation orders and recommendations for the Client.

  • Review the contract documents for correctness and areas of uncertainty

  • Approve site instructions as necessary

  • Reviewing, and monitoring and reporting on progress.

  • Coordination of forward planning

  • Monitor the staff member’s work for conformance with Project Procedures

  • Coordinate permitting, local authorities, approval and handover as needed to assist in smooth progress and completion of the work

  • Participate in design clarifications.

  • Respond with appropriate and necessary levels of action and supervision to meet quality expectations of the work in accordance with contract documents.

  • Communications within your team and across other teams (i.e., Design and Construction Teams) are essential
