With over 50 years of experience in the rail industry, we’ve delivered complex and challenging multidisciplinary projects all over the world. Our expertise extends to depots, operations, maintenance analytics and asset management across all aspects of rail, including transport, technical and sustainability assessments and systems infrastructure.

 

We are recruiting for Senior Project Managers with bus depot experience to join our Cardiff based Engineering Consultancy Services Business Unit. The projects will safely deliver £50-100m portfolios of challenging infrastructure projects, for clients such as Transport for Wales, Network Rail, HS2, Train Operating Companies and many more. You will be responsible for leading a high performing team and will be instrumental in the growth of Egis.

This is a permanent role based in Cardiff on a hybrid basis.

Job description

Duties & responsibilities

  • Plan and manage a portfolio of non-complex/complex projects throughout the complete project lifecycle.
  • Experience delivering projects within the Bus sector. 
  • Delivering bus depot/ interchange enhancements and fit outs (other depot experience can be considered).
  • Experience delivering an increase or introduction of charging facilities to accommodate electric buses.
  • Understanding of bus operations.
  • Experience delivering upgrades to existing electrical connections or delivering new connections for charging facilities. Therefore, knowledge of electrical transmission and distribution would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Responsible for providing effective performance and development management responsibilities for any direct reports, with regards to appraisals and performance management, (such that poor performance is identified and addressed and good performance is recognised and rewarded).
  • Responsible for compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and championing the Health and Safety culture, resolving arising issues or escalating as appropriate and ensuring safe delivery in line with the corporate safety vision.

   

Qualifications, Skills, Experience & Attributes

  • Member of the Association of Project Management (or equivalent)
  • A degree or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in project management and delivering complex Bus operation projects
  • Experience implementing project management methodologies
  • Strong NEC3 contract administration experience
  • Ability to integrate project programmes (P6 and/or MSP)
  • Strong financial management/control experience
  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable

  • Chartered Project Manager or working towards
  • NEC ECC Project Manager Accreditation
