We are looking for an experienced Senior Design Manager to work closely with a multi-disciplinary building design team. The Senior Design Manager will be responsible for supporting the effective delivery of work and close collaboration with Design Principals (Architecture, MEP, and Structures) and specialist sub-consultants to ensure scope is fully delivered and to the required quality. Additionally, this role requires the ability to support in securing new work, developing proposals, and demonstrating a strong track record of project delivery
• Closely collaborate with a multi-disciplinary building design team, providing guidance and support as needed to ensure successful project delivery.
• Work closely with Design Principals (Architecture, MEP, and Structures) to ensure integration across all design disciplines and the timely and efficient delivery of all design deliverables.
• Develop proposals and participate in business development activities to secure new work, including attending client meetings and networking events.
• Actively contribute to the strategic planning of the design function and the company as a whole.
• Ensure that all work is completed to the required quality and within the agreed-upon budget and timeframe.
• Identify potential project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
• Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the design team and across the company.
• Participate in regular project meetings, both internal and external, and ensure that all stakeholders are kept informed of project progress.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in managing multi-disciplinary building design teams.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• Demonstrated ability to support in securing new work and developing proposals.
• Strong technical expertise in all aspects of building design, with a preference for an architecture background.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team of professionals.
• Understanding of local regulations, codes, and standards related to building design.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other design disciplines, including MEP and Structural teams.
• Project management certification (e.g. PMP) is desirable but not required.
