About the role
We are looking for an experienced Project Sponsor (with background in Rail) who can lead on some of our Telecom projects you will work with our Engineering Consultancy Services Business Unit to safely deliver a key project for our client Network Rail. This will be based at either the London or Milton Keynes Office and you will be required to be in the office a minimum of 2 to 3 days per week.
This role will be on a contract bases inside IR35
Duties & Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining a clear understanding of the Client’s needs;
- Being prepared, able and willing to challenge;
- Obtaining and retaining good oversight of the delivery of key requirements;
- Creating opportunities to deliver cheaper and more effective solutions;
- Having the capacity and capability to thoroughly analyse the possibilities and options available before the remit is agreed;
- Having a good understanding of what is required for successful project delivery;
- Having the ability to understand how the scheme fits with other outputs;
- Having the capability to manage various, often conflicting, internal and external influences to ensure successful delivery.
- Having the ability to secure the funding necessary to effect successful delivery
- Having the ability to monitor/oversee compliance with investment regulations, other corporate governance and GRIP / PACE.
- Having the ability to undertake assurance, including holding stage gate reviews at key decision points. Monitors project progress regularly and takes action to identify and address issues and deviations from plan and deliverables
- Having the ability to identify and instigate corrective action (through change management) in the event internal or external factors impact the business case
Experience of working in Rail environment under Sponsorship capacity
