The Project Management Office Director develops and implements PMO processes and policies, directs project management staff, and works with other department leaders to define, prioritise, and develop projects and programs.

As the PMO Director, you shall manage all governance & departmental sub-functions within a broader departmental set of functions, including, corporate, governance, setting business planning, investment, operations, delivery, and steady state delivery including O&M / project lifecycle.
You shall take responsibility for the creations of functional strategies, developing budgets, policies and procedures to support the functional infrastructure.

Responsibilities
- Continuously improve project management toolkits and methodologies
- Define the overall objectives and key deliverables for the project
- Develop and utilise strong working relationships to ensure thorough and effective management of assigned project initiatives
- Drive the training on project methodology and other trainings as needed, including the evolution of materials
- Provide Program Management and project team oversight
- Establish project benchmarks and performance KPI metrics, measuring the performance of these
- Develop and adjust staffing model to support the evolving functions and program demands
- Translate the project vision into program high level scope, design and executables
- Lead the analysis, selection and roll-out of PMO tools that enable the integrated delivery model.
- Develop the organisation structure and functions strategy, providing optimal portfolio value analysis and delivery strategy. This includes documenting all key decisions and action items.
- Own the governance plan for stage-gate decision process’, approvals, and core PMO leadership team meetings.
- Ensure functional area deliverables are understood, cross-functionally aligned, execution of deliverables and timelines are on track.
- Bring a deep background in Portfolio, Program & Project management.
- Partner with the Leadership Directors to facilitate an effective, cross-functional governance process to enable portfolio status and health.
- Leads project quality and analytical functions to mitigate and address project delivery challenges in the support of continuous improvement efforts.
- Leads preparation of regular, thorough, and articulate executive KPI summaries for senior leadership on project and team performance.
- Leads interviewing and hiring process in assigned areas and provides direct input into performance evaluations.
- Partner with the HR Director to facilitate an effective, cross-functional governance process to enable portfolio status and health.
- Ensures adherence to practices, procedures, precedents, policy, and Executive Leadership direction.
- Develop and employ strategies to bring alignment and true partnership between investment, governance, controls, commercial finance, technology, delivery and business stakeholders and team members.
- Direct program and project management staff and works with other department leaders to define, prioritise, and develop programs and projects
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in development, construction, business or related filed, required.
- Extensive experience in the development and project management at a senior level required.
- Proven track record of successfully managing programs from concept to completion and into operations.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis on issues encountered during project delivery and devise course correction and ‘get to green’ plans.
- Exceptional influencing and team development skills.
- Proficient in Project Management at a strategic level.
- Ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams.
- Certification in Project Management is highly preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Project and Excel skills.
- Organisational and planning skills, with the ability to communicate both written and orally at a high level, in order to build effective working relationships.
- Superior organisational skills, with experience managing multiple projects with high priority.
- The ability to lead others through challenges, obstacles, deadlines, and changes is required.
- Ability to inspire others, creates vision and strategy, energizes others
