The Project Director leads and manages the project from inception to completion, providing leadership, management, coordination and direction to teams delivering the projects and liaises closely with client and stakeholders.

He/She represents the company in the project organization and is ultimately responsible for foreseeing that the programme meets its overall objectives by setting plans, priority and resources to the project.

The PD shall be an individual with strong business acumen, who has a proven record of successful delivery of large-scale engineering projects and can display a high level of technical ability within construction engineering field.

Job description

  • Accountable for the safe and timely delivery of the contract obligations against the key business metrics.
  • Responsible for meeting the project objectives within the agreed timescales and budget, whilst ensuring that the Project Management System is applied throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Providing leadership, direction and guidance to senior managers to ensure quality technical services are provided that meet both the project and client requirements.
  • Overall responsibility for the management of all staff within the project.
  • Provide overall direction and leadership of the programme.
  • Responsible for the overall performance of the programme including cost, schedule, safety and quality as well as staff performance.
  • Responsible for planning & governance and for overseeing the successful delivery of the project’s output in alignment with Client requirements.
  • Maintain strategic alignment between the project and the organization.
  • Interface with the senior representatives of the Client, consultants and contractors.
  • Develop and implement project management plans to ensure the success of the project.
  • Regularly communicate with the company management & key stakeholders to ensure project outcomes are met.
  • Define the project governance (controls), plan the overall project and monitor the progress.
  • Manage the project’s budget, risks and issues and taking corrective measurements.
  • Coordinate the project packages and their interdependencies.
  • Manage and utilize resources across projects, manage stakeholders’ communication.
  • Promote and maintain health and safety and ensure safety rules are being followed.

Profile

  • Must hold a B. Sc or a Masters’ Degree in Engineering or equivalent from a recognized university or college (M. Sc. Is preferred).
  • Minimum 20 years of experience in managing engineering design development, construction practices, economic principles, international codes, standards, procedures and specifications.
  • Has experience on mega infrastructure/building/architectural projects in the GCC.
  • Must have experience at senior management/director level as well as having extensive experience in client facing roles.
  • Leadership Skills
  • Degree in Business Administration or related. 
  • Chartered Engineer status
  • GCC experience
