Our expertise extends to depots, operations, maintenance analytics and asset management across all aspects of rail, including transport, technical and sustainability assessments and systems infrastructure.
We seek an experienced Project/Design Manager to join our Engineering Consultancy Services Business Line to safely deliver a portfolio of challenging rail infrastructure projects, for clients such as Network Rail, Transport for London, HS2, Train Operating Companies and many more. You will be responsible for leading a high performing team and will be instrumental in the growth of Egis.
Duties & responsibilities
- Lead/support Egis tender proposals, produce tender programmes and pricing schedules
- Responsible for providing a clear vision and team direction by leading a high-performing team through the effective management, development and empowerment of staff.
Manage internal and external resources to produce outputs/deliverables in line with contract requirements and client expectations - Retain full control of project programmes, interogate supply chain programmes and challenge slippage. Work collaboratively to develop and implement mitigation measures.
- Client point of contact. Lead post contract management, including management of early warnings, contract change and change control.
- Manage CEM and CREs to ensure governance in compliance with NR-L2-RSE-02009-ISSUE 7 (Engineering Management for Projects).
- Manage the engineering team for production of design drawings, calculations, reports, and supporting documentation in accordance with Eurocodes and NR-L2-CIV-003-Issue 7 (Engineering and Architectural Assurance of Building and Civil Engineering Works), including associated disciplines, across projects ranging from GRIP 1 to GRIP 5 / RIBA 2 to 5 / ES1-3
- Coordinate and manage engineering activities so that they result in affordable solutions and meet programme requirements in a safe and environmentally responsible manner for time, cost and quality.
- Lead on all financial reporting, including periodic senior management board meetings
Qualifications, Skills, Experience & Attributes
Essentials (minimum requirements for interview)
- Technical qualifications to degree in relevant subject BEng/MEng
- Member of the Association of Project Management (or equivalent)
- Project and team-running experience in UK consultancy, client, or contractor organisation
- Relevant experience in project management and delivering complex rail projects
- Excellent understanding to Eurocode, Network Rail and associated rail standards, and related regulations (CDM, CSM, RIR)
- Strong NEC3 contract administration experience
- Ability to interogate project programmes (P6 and/or MSP)
- Strong financial management/control experience
- Right to work in the UK
Desirables (not essential, but highly advantageous)
- Association of Project Management - Chartered Project Manager (ChPP)
- NEC ECC Project Manager Accreditation
- Professional Engineer Registration status with the Engineering Council (UK) and be registered with an appropriate professional institution
- PTS AC/DC
