Business Line specific context

Technical Director is responsible to lead the delivery the overall design. He/she will be responsible for the management and governance of all technical and engineering aspects on the project and will work with stakeholders to guarantee successful project design delivery.

Job description

  • Providing technical guidance, governance and day-today coordination of all design review activities for relevant scope and contractual conformance
  • Direct and manage performance and overall compliance with technical requirements for successful delivery of the Project.
  • Serves as senior team member and lead for Core Team, with direct liaison with SDC principals.
  • Chair and lead on high level technical design management and review meetings, issue relevant meeting minutes.
  • In coordination with the SDC, define the overall technical and operational plans and programs for delivery of Project assets, including delivery/processing schedule prioritization & execution and governance standards.
  • Manages the major technical issues for the Project and integrate Client’s interests.
  • Define technical policies to improve Project quality & efficiency.
  • Responsible for review, monitoring and updating of the Project technical performance.
  • Review and endorse technical reports to the Client.
  • Provide leadership in the management of risks relating to Project quality and take overall responsibility for related technical aspects.
  • Responsible for technical aspects of the Project with the objective of ensuring all tasks are delivered within the agreed scope and quality.
  • Ensuring appropriate processes and skills are in place to assure the safety and integrity of all engineering deliverables.
  • Contributing to the successful delivery of the project by leading and coordinating cross-discipline interfaces from a technical design perspective
  • Defines the Project technical / processing strategy and lead the implementation of the project technological methodology, standards and tools.
  • Assisting in drafting and reviewing the design review plan to ensure suitability and effectiveness.
  • Reviews and approves issuance of all technical reports to the Client.
  • Regularly engaging with the project senior management team when determining the allocation of technical resources
  • Identifying local and climatic aspects of application of materials in engineering design and actively interacting with parties involved

Profile

  • Successful track record in technical aspects on mega Projects
  • Ability to educate clients in all aspects of infrastructure and assets engineering.
  • Experience in mega-project/program in the GCC
  • Understanding local and environmental aspects of engineering design and materials used
  • Excellent communication, relationship management and influencing skills and effective collaboration with multiple stakeholders
