Job description

The operation and maintenance (O&M) service line is structured around 4 activities: Road, Airport, Rail, Mobility. It includes the operation and maintenance of transport infrastructure and mobility services.

The 'O&M and Operations Manager' along with Country Operations Manager will be responsible for:

  • Managing Egis Operations in Qatar, including all existing and future projects.
  • Leading all O&M activities in Qatar, network, in particular existing activity currently under Waagner Biro Bridge Qatar (WBBQ). WBBQ is a company owned 100% by Egis Projects S.A.S. with large portfolio in operations and maintenance of roads, bridges, tunnels, STPs, STWs and other water treatment facilities.

Mission & Main Activities:

  • Building the Egis Group image by collaborating with all players in Engineering and O&M in Qatar
  • Developing all O&M activities in Qatar, in line with the Business Line strategy
  • Establishing and maintaining a strong network across the industries stakeholders (clients, partners, advisors) in Qatar.
  • Responsible for achieving profitability ((projects profitability and DSO) and growth (order intake), and leading the activities of Egis in Qatar in line with the objectives assigned by the Regional BL Director (RBLD) and the Country Managing Director (CMD) and in compliance with Egis Values and Ethics standards.
  • In close cooperation with the RBLD and CMD, coordinate steerco (agenda, minutes, actions follow up) of which he/she is a key member.
  • Additional responsibilities include the development of the financial plans, marketing plans, project methodologies, technical and commercial leadership as well as project and business line staffing requirements and talent management.
  • The role requires close collaboration with the Country Managing Director on one side and the Service Line Directors on the other side, regional and business line commercial organization, tender units, communication and marketing team, finance, and accounting.
  • Always demonstrate effective leadership, to enhance the organization’s commitment to sustainable performance and ensure effective teamwork to meet or exceed targets.
  • Participate in the upstream commercial activities for the BL and the Country.
  • Lead the preparation of complex offers and mobilize the key expertise required for the production and success of these offers, whether this expertise is in his/her team, in SL or in the Country; ensuring compliance with the internal processes for the production / review / validation of offers (budget, quality, deadline).
  • Manage projects on behalf of the RBLD and the Country Managing Director and ensure that the service offering is deployed with the same level of requirement and quality across the Country thanks to skills deployed at the right level.
  • Ensuring timely projects reporting of accurate information to the RBLD and the Country Managing Director while guaranteeing service excellence and full compliance with scope-time-cost & quality requirements.


  • Hold an Engineering Degree.
  • Preferably Chartered with MMUP Certification.
  • MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 15 years of Experience
  • Strong experience in marketing and commercial activities. Ability to position and win major high profiles O&M projects.
  • Knowledge of communications and public relation techniques. Ability to develop and deliver professional presentations.
  • Experience in PPP projects
  • Experience in strategic planning and project management.
  • Knowledge of contracting, tendering, negotiating, and change management. Skill in analyzing tenders, market conditions and operational requirements.
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and P&L analysis. Ability to develop financial plans and manage resources. Ability to analyze and interpret financial data. Ability to prepare financial reports, statements, and forecasts.
  • Work effectively across a diverse multicultural multilingual community.
  • Excellence leadership skills & performance management by setting objectives and driving appraisals and communication.
  • Interactive client presentations, commercial road shows. Ability to speak at conferences and events to promote Egis’s services.
  • Work with Human Resources and Talent Acquisition Departments to drive strategies for recruitment and retention of key personnel to foster an environment that enables the company to attract and retain a high performing talented workforce.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic language.
