Job description

As part of the management team, you will be responsible for providing leadership to ensure successful delivery of incident response and traffic control on behalf of EGIS, across open roads and tunnel networks, to ensure compliance against key performance indicators.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Fulfil the accountabilities of this position in accordance with Egis Core Values, Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct, Policies.
    Operations
  • Mange the coordinated response for network incidents 24/7, requiring: incident response, clearance, traffic control and corrective/reactive maintenance.
  • Deliver incident response and traffic management in line with legislation to meet and exceed contract requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate traffic control (Internal and external resources) for maintenance activities, requiring lane or tunnel closures. Provide feed to the Client, to increase efficiencies with Traffic Control Room operations.
  • Lead Egis’ Emergency/Crisis Response to natural disasters and unplanned major events ensuring network availability and road user safety. Coordinate with Client’s Incident Manage Team, during events, and participate in Lesson Learnt workshops to actively development efficiency in Incident Manage processes across both businesses.
  • Manage collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as the Client, emergency services (ambulance, fire, police) and towing industry to improve and escalate incident clearance emergencies, debriefing where appropriate.
  • Manage internal and external communications for planned and unplanned, live traffic events.
  • • Develop, implement, and update as required, relevant management plans, (including incident, emergency and traffic management plans), procedures, and strategies.
  • Develop strategies and review existing procedures for the management of resources, to identify and implement efficiencies in area including but not limited to, staging locations, usage based on information, and other inputs, such as real time analysis, incident hot spots, time of day etc.
  • Achieve compliance for contractual KPIs, (minimum service level) requirements.
  • Manage completion of Internal and External reporting requirements.
    People and culture
  • Lead, mentor and empower the Network Traffic team to provide best practice, safety, incident response and traffic management line with legislation, and contracted requirements.
  • Manage team performance, participating in recruitment, positions description development, disciplinary processes, development and training activities to meet compliance and statutory requirements.
  • Actively build a high performing team.
  • Create and implement effective training and communications within the Network Traffic team, allowing for greater situational awareness and early implementation of incident and traffic management strategies, sharing lessons learnt and debriefs across the network.
  • Ensure knowledge, accreditations, memberships, licenses.

Profile

  • The applicant is subject to a satisfactory National criminal history police check.
  • Medical pre-workplace health check.
  • Be able to respond to emergency situations, on a 24/7 as needed basis, to meet business needs.
  • Hold a valid driver’s licence.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a high-performance team, such that business outcomes are met.
  • Significant expertise in road and tunnel traffic management.
  • Experience in traffic control room operations.
