Egis Road and Tunnel Operation are recruiting for the role of Control Room Operator based at the Egis Road and Tunnel Operations Motorway Control Building.

We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Motorway Control Room Operator. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling traffic on the motorway and national road network to ensure the safety and efficiency of all drivers.

Job description

  • Monitor the motorway network and respond promptly to incidents, accidents, and emergencies.
  • Use advanced technology to detect, analyse and manage traffic flow and incidents.
  • Coordinate with emergency services, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure a swift response to incidents.
  • Provide clear and concise instructions to drivers using variable message signs and other communication tools including social media.
  • Liaise with other control centres to manage incidents that affect multiple roadways.
  • Undertake administrative duties such as updating incident logs and preparing reports.
  • Conduct regular checks of equipment and systems to ensure they are functioning correctly.
  • Communicate effectively with other team members, road users, and stakeholders to ensure smooth and safe traffic flow.
  • Other duties as assigned by department supervisors or management team.

Profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a control room environment.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
    Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Proficient in using computers and various software applications.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including nights and weekends.
