Job description
• An Egis promoter to lead and execute legal support to all Egis operations in the region, in coordination with the legal department of the Egis group in terms of legal and contractual document review, offering legal advices, providing support and assistance during contract negotiation and execution
• Lead and manage the legal team in the region
• Dual Report to APAC CEO and Group Legal Counsel
• Act as the representative of the Group Legal Department in the region
• Implement and follow up Group Legal Procedures in the region
• Handle litigation and pre-litigation in the region
• Select and oversee external counsel in liaison with Group Legal Department
• Oversee the corporate housekeeping of all the Egis entities
• Perform as the Group Legal Department’s SPOC for all liability insurance matters in the region
• Supervise and train Contract Managers based in the region
• Provide legal trainings to the operations, in collaboration with Group Legal Department
• Monitor and report to the operations and Group Legal Department on the evolution of local regulations
• Manage Business Ethics & Compliance and risk performance:
o Participate in the implementation, monitoring and improvement of the Ethics approach
o Liaise with the Group Ethics & Compliance Director
o Oversee the dissemination and implementation of codes, procedures and tools
o Ensure compliance of the KYC procedure
Profile
• University Degree Holder in LLB/LLM with a recognized university in common law jurisdictions
• Qualified lawyer in Hong Kong with minimum 15 years post qualified experiences in reputable practices in Hong Kong or in the region
• Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Mandarin)
• Attentive to details, well organized, responsible, excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
• Be a business partner, able to explain details to business units and communicate well with all stakeholders in the organization
• Familiar with MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
