Business Line specific context

The Junior Landscape Architect will work closely with the Landscape Design Manager and assist in the development and implementation of landscape design projects. They will contribute to the creation of aesthetically pleasing and functional landscaped environments, private gardens, land developments, and public parks. The Junior Landscape Architect will be involved in various stages of the design process, from concept development to construction documentation, under the guidance and supervision of the Landscape Design Manager.

Job description


  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the landscape design team's work plan to ensure efficient utilization of resources and timely completion of design projects.

  • Support the Landscape Design Manager in creating landscape design guidelines for different typologies within the program, such as Wadis, Mosques, Schools, Utility corridors, Parks, Water distribution, and nurseries.

  • Contribute to the management of the tender process for program projects, including evaluating tenders, preparing reports and recommendations, and assisting in the selection of designer contractors.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the overall program production and deliverables are coordinated and integrated.

  • Aid in the production of design packages at different stages, following contractual obligations and related deliverables.

  • Assist in ensuring that designs are compatible with the urban environment and comply with relevant codes, standards, regulations, and local authority requirements.

  • Collaborate with internal and external design organizations to develop approved project designs.

  • Support the coordination of civils design with other disciplines involved in the program.

  • Assist in the administration of construction, demolition, consultancy, and associated tenders according to program requirements.

  • Monitor the progress of design delivery, identify areas for improvement, and help resolve outstanding issues.

  • Contribute to design risk assessments and transfer residual risks to the construction teams.

  • Collaborate with construction teams to ensure buildability considerations are incorporated into the design.

  • Liaise with stakeholders, including clients, municipalities, government bodies, and work teams, as required.

  • Assist in the review, verification, and acceptance of design outputs, such as calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports, prior to construction.

  • Support the implementation of practical, cost-effective solutions to enable safe construction of all project elements.

  • Assist in maintaining accurate cost reports and tracking project expenditures according to established frameworks.

  • Collaborate with the design team and contribute to effective resource management.

  • Work under the guidance of experienced Architects and contract staff to gain valuable industry knowledge and skills.

Profile

Qualifications and Skills:



  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field.

  • Knowledge of landscape design principles, construction techniques, and materials.

  • Proficiency in design software tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations related to landscape design.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality design deliverables.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, following instructions and seeking guidance when needed.

  • A passion for landscape architecture and a willingness to learn and grow in the field.
