The MENS’ BU (Project structuring, Operation and New Services) is one of the world leaders in the financial project structuring of PPP projects, as well as in the operation of infrastructures and services. In the road sector, Egis operates and maintains 44 roads and highways, including civil structures such as bridges, viaducts and tunnels. Through 28 operating companies, Egis employs more than 9,300 people in more than 20 countries, i.e. nearly 4,400 km.

In the airport sector, our BU operates, maintains and develops a network of 17 airports around the world, handling more than 30 million passengers and 330,000 tons of freight per year.

The MENS’ BU also offers a wide range of services for its customers such as electronic toll collection, interoperability and on-street parking management.

Egis and our joint venture partners have formed Connect Plus Services (CPS), which is the company responsible for managing one of the busiest motorways in Europe through Highways England's largest Design build Finance operate (DBFO) contract. Job description

  • To provide assurance to JV Parent Companies that the business has a suitable and sufficient Safety Management System that is understood and complied with by all staff
  • To be the business leader in HSE related matters
  • Undertake regular strategic reviews of the Safety Management and Environmental Management Systems and recommend/implement actions required as a result of those reviews
  • Set annual HSEQ objectives
  • Ensure adequate HSEQ resources
  • Provide Health and Safety support and advice to the Managing Director and Senior Management Team.
  • Provide contract support  for delivery of the Zero Harm Journey Plan
  • Communicate with Enforcing Authorities
  • Notify and sign off PIs
  • Provide a focus for cross contract co-ordination
  • To provide assurance to JV Parent Companies that the business has a suitable and sufficient Safety Management System that is understood and complied with by all staff
  • Contribute to industry working groups (HTMA, HSOG)
  • Carry out site inspections and audits Health and Safety to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Safety Management System.
  • Other functional Health and Safety duties as required

Profile

  • Degree qualified, NEBOSH diploma or equivalent and ideally be a corporate member of IOSH with substantial experience in the highway maintenance, construction or similar complex risk industry
  • Able to develop and lead a strategic and sustainable Health & Safety programme in a large, complex organisation
  • Able to ensure best H&S practice is an integral part of corporate strategies, contracts and operational plans
  • Experience of changing culture through leadership, coaching and mentoring at all levels within an organisation along with a focus on continuous improvement to maintain a positive HSE culture and system
  • Experience of financial and budgetary management and control
