Job description

Egis got awarded with a geotechnical and geological campaign supervision in Papua-New-Guinea.

 

The main activities will consist in monitoring the drilling activities (log, coring, labelling, etc…), preliminary lithology and witnessing the taking of the samples, in order to ensure the final Client that the campaign has been properly undertaken and that the results are reliable for the design to be performed.

 

Job Description :

  1. Issue daily report of the activities.
  2. Participation in the final reporting of witnessing the operations.
  3. Witnessing of:
  • Coring operations and the minimum disturbances of the cores,

  • Placing the cores in the boxes, labeling, and protecting,

  • Core loggings and the preliminary lithology ‘reading’,

  • Photographs of the cores with relevant commentaries (added by EGIS);

  • Sampling and protection of samples,

  • The test program that will be proposed by the Laboratory contractor.

Profile

 

Qualifications

  • A degree qualified engineer (Bachelor or Master degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Geology)
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in Geotechnical Engineering or Geological Engineering for the above scope of activities in the oil and gas or mining industries
     

Conditions:

  • Job will be performed on site in PNG on a basis of a 6/2 roster.
  • Mobilization shall start in August 2024 for an initial period of 6 months
  • Assignment could be extended. Possibility to join Egis design office (for design or supervision in Indonesia or in Asia Pacific) at the end of this assignment.
