We work in the transport and energy sectors, providing consultancy, engineering and operations services for clients such as major airports, governments, regulators, cities and rail and road operators.
We are now looking for a Geotechnical Asset Manager to join the Connect Plus Services joint venture between Egis, Atkins and Balfour Beatty, working on the Operations and Maintenance of the M25.

The Geotechnical Asset Manager shall  develop and implement an asset management strategy to deliver efficient and effective maintenance and renewal of the Geotechnical Asset at optimum whole life cost.

They shall also assist in the development and implementation of an integrated Asset Management System., managing and progressing  (risk based) geotechnical inspections and develop scopes of maintenance, renewal and improvement to overcome geotechnical defects which compromise its functionality.

They will have the opportunity to develop and maintain geotechnical plans of the entire network, using current asset systems / databases, including GDMS. To also manage HE and internal database system requirements.

 

Assist in the production and delivery of the Asset Management Forward Plan and programme

 

This position can be based out of our Dartford, Leatherhead or South Mimms offices.

 

Responsibilities

  • Undertake the prioritisation, programming, procurement, supervision, and management of inspections
  • Adherence and improvement to inspection Condition Methodologies with an emphasis on a risk based approach;
    • Geotechnical Asset Management including: Analysis of inspection data and establishment of network Condition, reported against handback criteria
    • Liaise closely with CPS DLE in order to establish nature of asset behaviour and contributing factors
    • Update HAGDMS with all relevant information
    • Undertake monitoring of known and emergent defects to assess deterioration and develop a prioritised approach to delivering a maintenance and/or renewal activity
    • Establishment of a prioritised 1-, 5- and 30-year forward plan of monitoring and /or renewal activities
    • Establishment of an enhanced maintenance programme to reduce risk of asset deterioration Assistance in the design development, procurement, and delivery of specific Geotechnical renewal and/or maintenance activities making use of, wherever possible, industry best practice and the implementation of innovation
    • Key interface and liaison point for Third Party Works Contractors and in providing support to Communications Team in responding to HAILs, Watchman reports or otherwise
  • To assist the wider asset team in the day to day management of all other asset categories
  • To act in a way that demonstrates the values of CPS and the Parent Company
  • To Contribute to continuously improve the Health and Safety culture across the contract

Profile

Skills and experience

 

  • Degree or equivalent with Chartered status
  • IT skills-Microsoft packages and asset management systems including HADDMS and CPS internal systems.
  • Substantial, practical experience of working within an asset and schemes delivery environment
  • Experience with GDMS and DMRB standards
  • Experience with working in a HE Area type contract
  • Current UK driving license, with own vehicle.
  • Ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders with demonstrable evidence of exhibiting influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Capable communicator, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of a business.
  • Be an active team member, keen to get stuck in as and when needed.
  • To be a collaborative team player that supports and assists more junior members of the team
  • Methodical and structured approach working individually or as part of a team
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships within Connect Plus Services, the DBFO Co, Highways England and other relevant key stakeholders
