Egis has been working in Romania for more than 25 years, providing engineering and consultancy services in road and rail transport sectors as well as water and environment, energy and urban development markets.

Our diverse team is working on more than 20 major infrastructure projects today with many more planned or expected. Amongst these are complex projects such as the Railway Feasibility studies for Predeal-Brasov and for Apahida Ilva-Mica. Designing and managing complex rail transportation projects, from high speed to urban mass transit is an increasingly important focus of our mission in Romania, drawing upon the 50+ years of experience that Egis group has in the rail domain.

In order to support our strong growth in Romania, Egis is looking to expand our team of high calibre designers by recruiting a senior rail designer. If this sounds interesting, then we’d like to hear from you.

Job description

Depending on your level of experience, the job of a senior Rail design engineer will require you to be able to:

▬    Supervision of field activities (surveys and tests, investigations, remediation works, etc.)

▬    Collection of geological and hydrogeological data

▬    Elaboration and development of collected data with models (i.e. geological, hydrogeological)

▬    Processing and interpretation of data collected on site.

▬    Preparation, revision and updating of environmental technical reports.

▬    Contribute to design in remediation and environmental safety measures.

▬    Coordination of external collaborators and subcontractors

▬    Support the PM and Project Team in the development of geotechnical deliverables.

Profile

We recognize that each applicant will bring different experience, but the ideal candidate will have:

▬    At least 5 years of experience working in Romania in the geological and/or geotehnical design and monitoring domain,

▬    Excellent computer skills in MS Office, AutoCAD and geological and geitechnical dedicated design softwares;

▬    Strong sense of responsibility, high standards of ethical behavior an ability to work in team collaboration and take decisions;

▬    Confident, clear and polite style of verbal communication one-to-one or in a group, including ‘active’ listening,

▬    Technical/Engineering degree,

▬    Fluent Romanian, and preferably good spoken and written English

▬    Strong computer skills (proficiency in recognised design software and Microsoft applications).
