Job description

Egis Rail with its partners Gadish and HDR (altogether called METAV) have been appointed as Network Manager, to work closely with the client in managing the planning, design and construction of 3 new underground metro lines in Tel Aviv. The 3 new metro lines will total 149km and 109 metro stations to serve 24 municipalities. Key figures:

·         Operational in 2032.

·         Estimated 2 million passengers per day will benefit from the new metro network.

·         €40bn estimated cost.

·         Benefits to Tel Aviv: 30% increase in public transport use and €8bn in economic benefits to the local economy.

This giga-project requires an Environmental Manager. As Environmental Manager you will develop, implement and monitor the environmental strategy and plans for Tel Aviv’s new Metro lines.

Specific Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Under Design Manager's responsability :

· Responsible for the development and formulation of a detailed Programme Environmental and Sustainability Management Strategy and Plan

· Development of a detailed Programme Environmental and Sustainability Management System consistent with ISO14001

· Ensure compliance with the environmental aspects of the Owner’s Requirements

· Oversee the incorporation of environmental requirements in other core procedures

· nsure compliance with the environmental and sustainability Laws and requirements of applicable Authorities

. Develop strategies to minimize Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions from construction and operations and to ensure resilience to climate change.

Profile

The candidate should have:

· Senior environmental professional with more than 20 years’ experience in Environmental and Sustainability Management of major infrastructure/transportation projects.

· Knowledge of Low-Carbon development in the design and construction of infrastructure

. Knowledge of climate resilience in the design and construction of infrastructure.
