Job description

Egis Egypt is looking for an Engineering Manager to work on a rail project in Cairo. 

As Engineering Manager reporting to the Project Director you will be responsible for the effective execution of consulting services of rail projects in Egypt. You will lead the technical management team which includes several disciplines such as safety assurance, risk management, requirements, architecture, integration & interface management and EMC.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Lead the technical management team, ensuring harmony and coordination between disciplines.
  • Coordinate the various internal and external technical stakeholders (partners, particularly designers, subcontractors, etc.).
  • Involved in the project management of Rail preliminary and detailed design review.
  • Serve as technical expert to make engineering decisions, accept design proposals or technical solutions, make recommendations, resolve technical clashes, etc.
  • Manage a team of local and international experts for consulting services as part of the PMC team.
  • Responsible for engineering documentation approval /management.
  • Ensuring that risks are identified and controlled.

Profile

The candidate should have:

  • University degree at minimum Bachelors level of a recognized Civil Engineering Faculty
  • General overall experience (18) years
  • 15 years of professional experience in the same field.
  • 5 years of experience in management and implementation of similar transport infrastructure projects as member of a PMC team in an international environment.
  • Excellent communication and management skills and capacity to negotiate and develop good relations at work and fluent in English
  • Experience in technical project management and good skills in organizing, scheduling and coordinating as a part of a team is required
  • Determined to act in a responsible way in business activities as well as in social and environmental impact.
