Key responsibilities & desired skills

•  Prepare scope of services and program.
• Manage the project resources/ program.
• Attend the design team/client/ site meetings where required to support the Principal Engineer.
• Prepare calculations, schedules, drawings, and any other contract documents developed through the RIBA stages.
• Liaise and correspond with the design team/ contractor on day-to-day issues.
• Ensure compliance with the Project Execution/Management Plan
• Ensure the project risk register is completed and kept up-to-date
• Ensure all project variation are recorded and passed to the Associate.
• Implement and adhere to project QA policy and CDM requirements.
• Responsible for maintaining job filing system to company & QA standard.
• Co-ordination with architects / Structural engineers / specialist sub-consultants.

 Able to work with moderate supervision on

•        Electrical LV distribution system design
•        Substation planning design
•        Lighting & lighting control systems design
•        Emergency lighting design
•        Fire Detection systems
•        Containment systems design
•        Lightning protection systems design
•        Earthing Systems design
•        MEP space planning
•        Selection of electrical equipment.
•        Conversant with sustainable design solutions
•        Local Authority interfacing and liaison
• Conversant with applicable Local and International standards, regulations, and best practice
•        Conversant with LEED/ Estidama/ Dubai Green Building Code 

 Technical

• Produce drawing list/calculation index/specification list/information required schedule.
• Involvement in developing the engineering design philosophies and strategies
• Production of electrical building services drawings and calculations.
• Recording meeting notes / production of meeting minutes
• Responsible for development and production of drawings/calculations/specification/reports.
• Understand and communicate engineering design fundamentals.
• A moderate awareness of Mechanical and Public Health building services/MEP systems strategy
• Spatially aware and able to carry out services coordination
• Need to be good at report writing skills
• Good at Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Experience in Relux/Dialux Lighting Design Software
• Experience in Amtech/Hevacomp Power design software
• AutoCAD, Navisworks, Autodesk Revit basics is essential 

The candidate must have a rounded building services experience, with a portfolio which includes, residential, retail, high-rise, mixed-use and industrial projects:

·       5+ years building services Industry experience

·       Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering

·       Masters Degree in Electrcial Engineering, Building Services, or construction/management is beneficial

·       Member of CIBSE or IET, working toward Charterhip (CEng)

·       Excellent communication skills in written & spoken English, Arabic speaking is beneficial but not essential.
