Business Unit specific context

The Major Projects, Water, Environment and Energy Business Unit supports France and International projects around 3 main areas, with the aim of imagining innovative projects that are more respectful of the effects on our environment:

Engineering of complex structures such as viaducts, bridges, tunnels, dams, etc.

Cross-cutting specialized expertise such as civil engineering, geotechnics, hydrogeology…

“Energy” expertise anchored in an Energy Transition and sustainable development approach …. Biomass plant, hydroelectric power plants, geothermal energy


With a turnover of €142 million and 1,500 employees in France and abroad, we unite together with a strong desire for transversality and complementarity.

Within our strategic development, we are recruiting 3  Consultants willing to relish the challenge of a multi-faceted role in our company.  

 You will quickly be given responsibility and will be expected to contribute to the development of a small and dynamic company.

You will work on a wide range of industry, regulatory and policy projects in the UK and overseas and will be given a unique opportunity to develop all-round experience in the nuclear decommissioning and radioactive waste management and disposal industry.

Our head offices are located in a pleasant market town in the East Midlands, UK; there is an option to work in our others Egis offices (Harwell, Bristol, Farnborough).


The following experience are essential:

- MSc in quantitative earth sciences, applied mathematics, physics, chemistry or engineering, or equivalent experience.

- At least 2 years of working experience in:

- the nuclear industry, and in particular radioactive waste management planning/options assessment, disposal, nuclear safety and related fields, potentially with experience at nuclear sites;
- the modelling, particularly with respect to geological characterisation, groundwater flow, gas transfer, and/or contaminant transport in geological media;
- the criticality safety assessment;
radiological risk assessment; and/or
environmental safety case development.


Personal attributes:

excellent written and oral communication skills using the English language;
an aptitude for applied problem solving;
self-motivation and initiative;successful teamworking; andan ability to deliver high quality work to tight timescales.
More experienced candidates should ideally have a track-record in business development, project management and client engagement.
