Job description
To provide project specific services and outcomes as directed by the project lead to meet or exceed client and/or project requirements. Required to provide technical support to project requirements and/or manage sub tasks where identified. The Consultant – Business Analyst is primarily expected to meet client facing requirements but may also be required to support potential new business opportunities to contribute to business development activities.
Core tasks:
The main responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting clients to make evidence-based decisions and prioritise business improvement initiatives by sourcing, interpreting and presenting data in a format that support executive decision making
- The ability to consolidate and cleanse data from various (potentially large) data sets or sources into a consistent format that is most useful for the specified task
- Undertake, quantitative and qualitative analysis, including the design and development of models and tools, with skills including the following:
- Financial and cash flow analysis and forecasting
- Demand analysis and forecasting
- Identification of trends (or anomalies)
- Risk analysis / scenario modelling
- Problem solving skills underpinned by a defensible approach/methodology
- The following skills are not essential but are highly desirable:
- Economic analysis and impacts
- Financial and commercial analysis
- Benefits management and realisation frameworks
- Participating / working within the other areas of the business locally, interstate and globally to collaborate and share knowledge base
- Maintaining an understanding of the background of the client’s business and industry to facilitate building effective and enduring relationships and consolidating both company and personal credibility in the industry
- Engaging in Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
- Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time.
Profile
- Tertiary Qualification(s) in relevant field and at least three years industry experience, possibly in the area of:
- Statistics
- Mathematics
- Economics
- Finance
- Highly developed analytical skills and ability to utilise contemporary data analysis tools and techniques such as business intelligence and business analytic tools
- An understanding of organisational and prioritisation skills
- Ability to influence others to achieve outcomes using both written and verbal communication
- Computer literate with advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
