Our expertise extends to depots, operations, maintenance analytics and asset management across all aspects of rail, including transport, technical and sustainability assessments and systems infrastructure.
Currently Egis Rail has a limited involvement in producing design relying on subcontract support. The intention is to expand our current capabilities while developing a design team. We are looking to open a dedicated design office in 2023.
As Engineer/ Senior Engineer you will be a key member of the team as it grows. You will be required to support the engineering leads in current commissions which may mean assuming the CRE or PE role mainly in order to provide in house design solutions supported by our CAD team. We are looking for someone who will take this challenge head on, be part of a dynamic team with big ambitions. We will be looking to provide capabilities across light, heavy and metro rail systems and work alongside developing signalling and track teams.
The role is to be based in the Egis London Waterloo Head office. Although candidates will be considered who prefer to be based in Bristol or Birmingham..
The Engineer/ Senior Engineer will be part of a get it right first time culture within the team, responsibilities are likely to include:-
- Undertaking the CRE/PE role where required
- Develop design from feasibility up to As Built
- Supervising CAD staff to develop drawings in 2D, 3D and BIM Level 2
- Produce deliverables such as feasibility reports, design certificates, DRA’s at all stages of design from feasibility to As Built
- Have an understanding of relevant legislation such as CDM and HSAW and a willingness to develop that knowledge
This role will also include working on projects internationally for other EGIS subsidiaries.
Qualifications, Skills, Experience & Attributes
- Degree in Civil Engineering
- Some degree of railway experience whether Urban, Metro or Heavy Rail
- Experience of working in an engineering production environment
- A clear understanding of a multi-disciplinary design approach and the delivery of projects to a high quality, throughout all design stage gates
- Knowledge of UK design standards, such as Network Rail, HS2 and TfL
- Willingness to support the organisation to build and grow successfully
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable:
- Experience of undertaking the CRE role
- Experience of BIM
- Experience leading design packages
