Job description

 

The M25 is one of our Flagship projects in the UK! It is the most used part of the UK Strategic Road Network with it seeing over 200,000 vehicles per day and it’s a critical infrastructure asset for personal and goods vehicles into and around our capital. The network includes around 800 structures and 5 tunnels, so it requires high levels of performance, constant improvement and repairs to keep it operating smoothly.

We’ve formed a Joint Venture project called Connect Plus Services (CPS) to work with our partners to widen, operate and maintain the M25 under a 30-year contract and we are looking for a CAD Engineer to deliver drawing and electronic designs relating to the renewal and improvements schemes along with other drawings required by the business for the M25 projects.   

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare drawings, schedules, and other electronic designs to programme and budget.
  • Professional and technical competence in CAD and information management.
  • Ensure CDM and H&S is applied to all projects.
  • Ensure drawings are appropriate, are checked and meet the expected levels of technical quality.
  • To seek innovation in the delivery of CAD and BIM.
  • Ensure the IMS and CAD manual is actively applied.
  • Live the Connect Plus Services Values.
  • Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm
  • Support the delivery of the business’ Sustainability activities.

Profile

 

Qualifications/ skills/ experience:

  • Knowledge of the use of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D and BIM modelling
  • Relevant vocational qualifications (at least City and Guilds / HNC / HND)
  • 5 days of appropriate CPD in last 12 months including 3 related to highway engineering.
  • Broad knowledge of CDM, IMS and H&S legislation
  • Broad understanding of Highways Agency design and construction processes
  • Recent experience working with multi-disciplinary teams

Desirable

  • Membership of an appropriate professional institution
  • Appropriate CSCS card registration
  • Knowledge of KeyLines, KeyPost, KeyAccident KeySign, GIS etc.
  • Knowledge of ProjectWise
  • Experience of Highways Agency DBFO or MAC procedures
