With a growing pipeline of project-related works, EGIS is seeking an experienced candidate for the position of Associate Director - Systems Engineering.
The role will be based in London.
We are looking for an experienced, technically minded and results-driven candidate, with UK experience in managing and developing complex transportation projects.
The candidate will focus on delivering a major project and supporting the wider Egis team on future business development opportunities. This role may also include working on projects/bids internationally for Egis Transport Solution or other Egis subsidiaries, including travel within the UK and Ireland.
They will be able to demonstrate leading an integrated design and delivery team and be capable of bringing together a broad range of specialist contributors in an efficient manner across the business/consortium partners.
As an Associate Director within the business, the role will involve the following:
Project responsibilities:
- Leadership: acting as a key client interface at an associate director level managing multi-disciplinary teams.
- Safety champion promoting the safety and wellbeing of the team.
- Significant technical expertise in a given discipline and holds ability to manage multidisciplinary packages.
- Strategic leadership on project governance.
- Ability to manage a team and effectively plan resource utilisation.
- Stakeholder management providing clear direction across a broad audience.
- Support in financial management, budgeting and cost control related activities.
- Support in the management and control of risk and change management.
- Support in conflict management.
Egis Engineering Directorate
- Ability to advise, manage and agree contracts / consortium agreements with clients, manage programmes and deliverables.
- Promoting and developing inter-disciplinary working within the team to maximise opportunities.
- Representing the business, including related disciplines, at external meetings.
- Contribute & participate as a member of the Engineering Directorate within internal Egis functional teams.
Comply with responsibilities as defined in the Egis’ Health, Safety & Environment Policy and ensure compliance with the same throughout the team.
Complying with all aspects of Egis’ Quality Management Systems/Procedures.
Support the Egis in business development and tender opportunities.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- 10-15 years of experience in Engineering / Technical functions, with at least 5 years’ experience as a CEM / System Integrator / Design Manager / Director.
Excellent knowledge of railway infrastructure, systems, and operating requirements.
Significant experience of developing and implementing strategies for projects and programmes.
Excellent understanding of rail engineering, including Network Rail and associated rail standards, and related regulations (CDM, CSM, RIR).
Proven capability in managing design for a rail, especially in multi-disciplinary environments.
Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers.
Excellent engineering management, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
Managing projects within commercial constraints.
YOU MUST HAVE THE RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK
Desirable:
BSc or similar in bachelor’s degree (BEng, BSc) in a numerate, scientific or engineering subject or higher education/equivalent training and experience.
Chartered Engineer status from a recognised institution.
Relevant experience in the design, specification and procurement of infrastructure.
Wide knowledge of the rail environment appreciated.
