Job description

To support team in the management of the structure’s portfolio on the M25 Orbital Motorway around London.

This is a role to support the Structures Asset Management Team in management of the M25 structures portfolio.  This is an important role which will focus on analysis of data to report on the current structures asset condition and identify/forecast maintenance interventions.  The role will require a background and knowledge of engineering principles, asset degradation and maintenance needs for structures.

Additional activities will involve administration and improvement of the Asset Management Systems, ensuring data governance/data quality consistently meets DBFO contractual requirements and assisting with the production of structures 5 and 30 Year Asset Maintenance Plans.

There will be an opportunity be involved in the end to end process for structures management from shadowing inspections, data collection and supporting the renewal scheme implementation including complex structures such as the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge and Dartford Tunnels.

For long term sustainability a key activity will be to identify areas to promote innovation which will have greatest potential impact to our business.

Involvement in the activities above will give successful applicants a good understanding of the end to end asset management process from inspection through to delivering the forward renewal work programme. The role would allow suitable experience to be gained to achieve professional membership with Institution of Civil Engineers and/or Institute of Asset Management.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Understand current procedures and ensure all activities are undertaken to the highest standards of health and safety – Zero Harm
  • RMMS management & administration.
  • Assist in the management of data and quality checks/controls
  • Review and audit asset data
  • Assist with Structures Condition Reporting
  • Assist with the development of long term budgeting for 5/30 Year Plans
  • Assist with Asset Management Forward Plan 30 year plan preparation
  • Assist with Whole Life Cost/Cost & Benefit Analysis
  • Assist with identifying where savings can be made through efficiency and potential innovation
  • Assist with the identification of renewal schemes as and when required
  • Liaison with the AMS IT team to manage and maintain structures asset management system.
  • Assist in managing the condition of the asset in accordance with the handback requirements, including the condition assessment methodology
  • Attend various internal team meetings as and when required
  • Support the delivery of the Business Sustainability activities

Profile

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS /EXPERIENCE

  • Civil engineering related qualification
  • Good knowledge of structures
  • Skills in Office Microsoft applications such as Word, PowerPoint and/or others
  • Advanced Excel user skills
  • Previous experience in a data analytical role would be advantageous
