The Accountant plays a crucial role within the Finance & Accounting department, reporting directly to the Finance & Accounting Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing and managing various financial processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficient operations. The General Accountant will actively contribute to maintaining financial records, preparing payments, reconciling accounts, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Payment Processing:
-Route all Requests for Payment and Check Vouchers through the proper approval channels.
-Prepare checks for payment and telegraphic transfers accurately and in a timely manner.
-Validate and record Petty Cash Replenishment, ensuring proper documentation and accountability.
GL Account Management:
-Monitor and maintain the General Ledger (Payable) accounts, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
-Validate and record monthly recurring payables, accruals, and reversals to maintain accurate financial reporting.
Vendor Payments:
-Prepare and manage monthly amortization payable for bank loans, maintaining compliance with loan terms.
-Monitor and manage monthly consumption payables (e.g., fuel, utilities), ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
Financial Compliance:
-Ensure adherence to relevant taxes on purchases of goods and services, maintaining compliance with regulations.
-Collaborate with the Tax Department to ensure accurate tax calculations and timely payments.
Reporting and Analysis:
-Generate financial reports as required, providing insights and analysis on payables and cash flow.
-Assist in preparing financial statements and schedules for internal and external reporting.
Process Improvement:
-Identify opportunities for process improvements in payment workflows, GL account management, and reporting.
-Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control within the department.
