Job description

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Payment Processing:

  • Route all Requests for Payment and Check Vouchers through the proper approval channels.
  • Prepare checks for payment and telegraphic transfers accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Validate and record Petty Cash Replenishment, ensuring proper documentation and accountability.

2. GL Account Management:

  • Monitor and maintain the General Ledger (Payable) accounts, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Validate and record monthly recurring payables, accruals, and reversals to maintain accurate financial reporting.

3. Vendor Payments:

  • Prepare and manage monthly amortization payable for bank loans, maintaining compliance with loan terms.
  • Monitor and manage monthly consumption payables (e.g., fuel, utilities), ensuring accuracy and timely processing.

4. Financial Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to relevant taxes on purchases of goods and services, maintaining compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Tax Department to ensure accurate tax calculations and timely payments.

5. Reporting and Analysis:

  • Generate financial reports as required, providing insights and analysis on payables and cash flow.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and schedules for internal and external reporting.

6. Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in payment workflows, GL account management, and reporting.
  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control within the department.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) / Key Result Areas (KRAs):

7. Timeliness and Accuracy:

  • Percentage of payment requests processed accurately and on time.
  • Timeliness of monthly GL account reconciliations and accruals.

8. Vendor Management:

  • Accuracy of monthly amortization payable calculations.
  • Timely processing of monthly consumption payables with minimal errors.

9. Financial Compliance:

  • Compliance with relevant tax regulations and accurate tax calculations.
  • Percentage of compliance with loan terms and conditions.

10. Reporting and Analysis:

  • Timely generation of financial reports and statements.
  • Quality of insights provided in financial analysis.

11. Process Efficiency:

  • Number of process improvements implemented to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Reduction in errors and delays in payment processing.

12. Team Collaboration:

  • Effective collaboration with team members, superiors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Contribution to a positive and productive work environment.

 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 3-5 years of General Accounting work experience
  • Sound knowledge of relevant taxes on purchases of goods and services is a plus
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles
  • Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills
  • Keen attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
