Job description

We’re now seeking a Systems Design Consultant to join our innovative team, based in the UK, France or Asia Pacific! Egis have Aviation offices in Farnborough, Dubai, Slovakia, Brussels, Paris, Toulouse, and Hong Kong, and you will have opportunities to travel and work with clients all over the world. We’re looking for a Systems Design Consultant to play a pivotal role in the design of complex safety critical systems, as well as performing client facing activities. This role will involve interacting with multiple stakeholders to contribute to the development of both current and future Air Traffic Management systems.

Our clients include airports, ANSPs, governments, industry and regulators, so the work you do will be varied.

 

Responsibilities

  • High level system design to meet customer business and operational needs
  • Requirements specification
  • Design and implementation of verification and validation activities
  • Review and validation of any data provided by suppliers collation and validation of data in support of the safety arguments
  • Support regulatory approvals and certification activity
  • Support audits carried out by the quality assurance team
  • Liaising with clients and the realisation of the customer’s objectives
  • Project, programme and stakeholder management

Profile

 

Essential requirements include:

  • A proven experience in system design, system engineering or software engineering
  • A keen interest in working in the aviation or traffic management sector
  • Experience in systems engineering, software development, or similar disciplines which could be applied to the aviation sector
  • A good overall understanding of key benefits and weaknesses of different technical design options and a good, broad understanding of technology architecture and design options
  • Ability to understand customer interaction, needs and operations, and how these translate into requirements and design for assistance
  • A proven track record of working on a complex programme, including and testing and validation experience
  • Must be able to lead on system engineering roles within aviation, or a related field
  • An expert in MS Office desktop applications including: Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI
  • Experience in using techniques to model system design and capture requirements
  • In addition to related qualifications and training, experience working within design/ engineering environment, preferably with an aviation bias
  • Awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth

 

Desirable requirements include:

  • A strong, broad understanding of technology architecture and design options will ideally be within aviation but, if experience from other industries can be applied, this must be demonstrated
  • Experience of working with the MAA, CAA, FAA and other regulatory authorities would be a distinct advantage
  • Experience of Agile methods would be desirable
