Job description
- Assist for preparation of design and construction standards, and specifications as per the best international practices and applicable codes.
- Develop and implement stage gates control process for the design projects
- Provide the project initial design criteria
- Review and comment the design works
- Value Engineering for design and construction projects
- Preparing comprehensive scope of work for engineering design RFPs, and technical support during the tendering stage
- Review and approve proposed design changes to awarded contracts
- Develop stage gates process for the projects including the responsibilities matrices for each stage during the entire life cycle of the project from strategic planning stage up to close out and handing over stages through the design and construction stages.
- Support in the development of clients Projects Engineering guidelines and Operating Structure.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques • Report and escalate to management as needed
- Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project
- Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members' individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels
- Track design project performance, specifically to analyse the successful completion of short and long-term goals
- Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members
- Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs
Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum 15+ years of experience on large-scale airport projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience of working internationally (preference for Middle East / KSA).
